Save a Drop for Zayed is a sustainability initiative focused on reducing water waste by collecting, filtering, and reusing car wash wastewater. The project promotes practical water conservation solutions that support a more sustainable UAE.
Honoring the legacy of Sheikh Zayed
Inspired by the vision and environmental legacy of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may he rest in peace, this project encourages responsible use of natural resources. By protecting and reusing water, we support a more sustainable future for the UAE and future generations.
A practical, chemical-free process
The process begins by collecting used car wash water. The water is then left to settle so oil, dirt, and heavier waste can separate. After that, it passes through a filtration system without adding harmful chemicals. The filtered water can then be reused for non-potable purposes such as car washing and, when suitable, irrigation.
Changing perceptions on used water
Our goal is to help people see used water as a resource that can be reused instead of immediately discarded. By promoting simple water reuse solutions, the project encourages more responsible and sustainable water habits in the community.
